Setting the Foundation Before College Advisors Step In
The college admissions journey doesn’t begin junior year—it starts with the choices your student is making right now. That’s where I come in.

College Ready!
Here’s what they walk away with:
I help students build the story behind their application—before the essays, before the list of schools, before the deadlines.
As a certified coach, credentialed teacher, and former VP with nearly a decade of experience guiding students, I specialize in helping teens:
-
A real understanding of their strengths, quirks, and interests — not just the buzzwords
-
A “Highlight Reel Jar” — full of academic wins, personal stories, and wow moments to pull from later
-
A smart plan for high school classes, activities, jobs, and community impact
-
Study skills, executive functioning tools, and time management habits (so you don’t have to micromanage)
-
SAT vs ACT clarity — based on how their brain works
-
polished, intentional digital footprint (because yes, some schools peek)
-
Confidence. Direction. A narrative that makes sense and stands out
-
Self-advocacy and communication tools — so they can speak up, email well, and ask for what they need (in school and life)
-
A rhythm of reflection — we help them track what’s working (and what’s not) so growth isn’t accidental
-
A pre-advisor portfolio — organized notes, insights, and documents that make meetings with future college advisors easier and more effective
-
Growth mindset coaching — we help them bounce back from setbacks, stay curious, and keep growing
What I Don’t Do (and Why That Matters)

I’m not a college advisor. That means I don’t:

-
Create college lists
-
Edit or write personal statements
-
Navigate deadlines or application logistics
-
Guide students through Common App or specific admissions portals
That’s what college advisors do—and they’re great at it.
What I do is everything that comes before that. I work with students early—in 9th, 10th, or early 11th grade—when the foundation for a strong college application is still being built.
By the time a student reaches a college advisor, they know who they are, where they’re headed, and what they bring to the table. That clarity doesn’t just reduce stress—it raises the bar.
And because we’re not in competition, I love partnering with college advisors. I’m the prep work they wish every student had done. When your student is ready for that next step, I’ll gladly refer you to trusted professionals who can take it from there.
